Approximate 2 hour guided kayak tour from Detroit’s Maheras-Gentry Park.  Kayak out to the Detroit River from the Park’s protected bay and then upstream to the historic canals.  Highlights of this tour include the Fisher Mansion, the friendly residents of Detroit’s “Little Venice” and a view of Motor City’s downtown.   See Detroit like you’ve never seen it before!

Private tours can be arranged for groups from 1 – 20.  Contact Riverside Kayak Connection for availability and pricing.

Location:  Maheras-Gentry Park at the end of Algonquin Park Drive, off of Clairpointe Street.  The launch site consists of terraced limestone block descending to the water.

Fee:  $40 for solo kayak, paddle, and life jacket.  (When you sign up we will ask you for your approximate height and weight to select the appropriate kayak for you.)   See the What to Bring link for items you may want to bring with you.

$20 with your own kayak, because there will be paddling on the Detroit River we ask that all kayaks have double bulkheads.   If you paddle with RKC, you must have your life jacket on and zipped for the duration of the paddle. These requirements are for your safety and the safety of the group.

Sign Up:  To reserve a kayak and gear call the shop at (734) 285-2925 at least 24 hours prior to the paddle (we recommend calling ahead as this is our most popular paddle so it fills up quickly). Payment is required to reserve a kayak.
